During health education, we learned that there are other types of snacks that we can have in between meals. Some of us have been snacking on sweets, chocolates or even prawn crackers. Let's try these snacks that our friends have suggested when we are hungry next time.
Edward's snack: Milk and cereal

Daisy's snack: cereal

Minami's snack: fruits

Pratiwi's snack: watermelon

Joel's snack: watermelon

If you ask anyone in our class about our favourite lesson, we will tell you that we enjoy PE very much!
Today, we had a session that involved some running and body awareness. At the sound of the whistle, we had to stop running and listen for the alphabet that we were supposed to form with our body. Miss Mashitah said that we were very creative.
Give me an A!

Swee Hern is probably looking around if there are other ways to make an A.

Show me a Y!

What about a K!

Let's see a T!

An O please!

Daisy and Eliza's O.
Finally a H!

Hmm, what would have happened if it was a W instead... :)

We had Art lesson today. We were also reading a new Big Book titled Bubble Trouble for English lesson. Miss Mashitah got us to share what we knew about bubbles. We know it pops really fast when blown and they look pretty in the sunlight.
We had to create a Happy Bubble for Art. We were to use pieces of colour paper, round paper plates and some markers to do this. The 'bubble' which was actually the paper plate will show the happy memories that we would like to put in our bubble. A bubble we hop will never pop.

It was a pair work activity.

We were very engrossed with our work.

While display lasts! :)

Chinese New Year Celebration at school
0 Comments Primary 2B on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 2:16 PM.
We celebrated the upcoming Chinese New Year with an exciting concert at school today. We were allowed to come in our traditional costumes today and many of us did. Take a look at our photos. Don't you think we look good in it? :)
At 11.30am, we went to the school hall for the concert.

Everybody was excited.

Some of our parents joined us for the celebration too.

We watched the first concert item performed by the Chinese dancers from our school.

There was also a quiz item on the meaning behind the customs and practices of Chinese New Year.

However, what excited us the MOST was the lion dance performance!

All of us were really excited to see it up close.

There was also a prize presentation for the talented lantern makers from all the levels in our school. The lanterns were on display at our school canteen.
The celebration concluded with singing of the Chinese New Year songs that we've been learning during Music lessons for the past week.

We enjoyed the concert very much.
Gong Xi Fa Cai! :)

We would like to take you on a tour. Where to?
Our classroom, of course! :)
Before you step into our classroom, this sign welcomes you at our door.

Then, you'll see our class noticeboard where we display our work.

There is also another noticeboard at the back of the classroom.

Did you notice the flowers that decorate the border of our noticeboards? Everyone of us has a flower in the 'Garden of Primary 2B''. Here are some of them.

By the way, Edmund is our class monitor. :)
We have a Word Wall in the classroom.

This is where we go to when we need to refer to words that we need to spell for our written work.
It may look a bit empty now because the words are added onto the wall only after we have completed reading a new Big Book. Our class has read 2 so far. These are the vocabulary words we learned in our STELLAR units during English lessons.

We have a class library too.

Many of us enjoy reading books as a pastime. We get to read at the library when we have completed our classwork.

Did you notice the 5 blue baskets on top of the library cupboard? Those are our activity baskets. They contain brain teasers, puzzles, word games, book review and more. Each basket has a different activity. Every two days, the five groups in our class take turn to try out the different activities in the baskets. Each group gets one activity basket every two days.
Here's our Excellence Bottles.

Miss Mashitah pours some water into the bottle when our group completes selected assignments very well. This means everybody in the group did their work carefully, checked our answers for any careless mistakes and obtained correct answers (and workings for Math) for all the questions.
Some groups, like the yellow group, has even came up with a strategy of their own to achieve this. They checked their own work twice and then exchanged it with another group member. Then, they checked each other's work again.

We hope you've enjoyed the tour. We'll bring you on another tour again soon. Till next time, bye!
